Graves, Memorials, & Buildings

Tens of thousands were buried in Fulham Cemetery but relatively few gravestones remain after a policy of "grassing over" since the 1950s. Many of the original Victorian buildings are gone, too.

One of the aims of the Fulham Cemetery Friends is to research the history of the graves in the cemetery, to highlight some of their stories.

There are 3 memorials commemorating burials of the 1914-1918 war and the 1939-1945 war – the Cross of Sacrifice monument on the central avenue and a designated war plot.

Two original Victorian buildings survive, the chapel and the lodge, both in Gothic style. Find out more about these buildings, and those that no longer exist.
